The Challenge

Autorig UAB is a heavy machinery dealer operating across the Baltic states. Their existing platform was built years ago on a legacy stack that struggled with performance, lacked mobile responsiveness, and made it nearly impossible for buyers to find what they needed.

The heavy machinery market has specific requirements that generic e-commerce templates can't handle. Equipment listings need detailed technical specifications, multiple filter dimensions (manufacturer, model year, operating hours, weight class), and high-resolution media galleries. Buyers in this space are professionals who expect to narrow down hundreds of listings to relevant results in seconds.

Autorig needed a ground-up rebuild: a fast, modern platform that could handle complex product data, serve multiple languages (Lithuanian and English), and scale as their inventory and customer base grew.

Our Approach

We chose Next.js with the App Router for its server-side rendering capabilities and built-in performance optimizations — critical for SEO in a market where buyers search Google for specific machine models.

Data architecture was the foundation. We designed a Supabase (PostgreSQL) schema that models machinery listings with structured specifications, enabling powerful filtering without sacrificing query performance. Each listing supports dozens of filterable attributes while maintaining sub-200ms response times.

Advanced filtering system — the core of the user experience. We built a multi-faceted filter panel that lets buyers combine manufacturer, category, price range, year, operating hours, and condition in any combination. Filters update results instantly with optimistic UI patterns.

Multi-language support was implemented at the content and routing level, allowing Autorig to serve Lithuanian and English-speaking customers from the same platform without content duplication.

SEO optimization included structured data markup for product listings, dynamic sitemap generation, and server-rendered pages that search engines can crawl effectively. Each listing generates its own optimized meta tags.

Responsive design ensures the platform works equally well on desktop (where dealers browse inventory) and mobile (where field buyers check listings on-site).

Tech Stack

  • Next.js (App Router) with TypeScript
  • Supabase (PostgreSQL) for data and authentication
  • Tailwind CSS for responsive UI
  • Vercel for hosting and edge delivery
  • Server-side rendering for SEO performance

The Result

The rebuilt Autorig platform delivered measurable improvements across the board:

  • Page load times dropped by 60% compared to the legacy platform, with Lighthouse performance scores consistently above 90.
  • Search-to-listing conversion improved significantly thanks to the advanced filtering system — users find relevant machinery faster and engage with more listings per session.
  • Organic search traffic grew steadily as server-rendered, SEO-optimized pages started ranking for long-tail machinery queries in Lithuanian and English.
  • The platform scales effortlessly — adding new categories, manufacturers, or specification fields requires no code changes, just database configuration.

Autorig now has a digital presence that matches the quality of their physical operation — professional, efficient, and built for growth.
